Both my concentrations reflect my interests in advertising and effective communication. My studies taught me the skills needed to execute an advertising campaign from strategic planning to measurement reporting. My background in comms has taught me many valuable lessons such as conflict resolution and the true meaning of collaboration from both an interpersonal and professional lens. These lessons, and many more, have trained me to be a valuable advertiser, communicator, and collaborator. In addition to my education, I value the impact of leadership. I held my first leadership position at nine years old and have had over a dozen more since then. In 2016 I joined the largest business organization at my college campus and six months later, I became the President. I always knew I liked to lead others and help others grow, but I developed a passion for leadership. Someone once told me that leading was not a passion, but I've made it my own. Every day I tried (and I still try) to be a better person for myself and those around me through empathy, communication, and thought leadership. Here I learned that effective leadership empowers others to grow which transcends to collective success. Now, I work for my favorite company and streaming services at The Walt Disney Company! After working on both the agency and publisher side, I have grown a keen understanding of how the advertising industry operates. Disney has an incredible portfolio full of innovation and tech leadership. Executing advertisements in the entertainment industry has opened my eyes to the significance of strategy, creativity, data application, and above all the compelling role of storytelling. With my endless curiosity for learning, I have recently pivoted from media planning to data solutions and am so eager to learn more about advertising from a data lens. However, my ultimate goal is to leave people with an unforgettable feeling like Maya Angelou said. At the end of it all, we are people first.
